Privacy Policy — UXBERT Inspo

UXBERT Inspo ("we", "our", "the extension") is a design inspiration tool available as a web app, Chrome extension, Telegram bot, and Figma plugin. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's handled — specifically for the Chrome extension, but the same principles apply across all surfaces of the product.

1. What we collect

• Account info: your email address and a hashed password, used to authenticate you via Supabase Auth.
• Saved content: screenshots, images, and the source page URL/title of any item you choose to save (e.g. via the right-click menu, the hover-save button, or the popup).
• AI-generated metadata: titles, summaries, tags, components, and tools detected by AI analysis of items you save.
• App preferences: your extension on/off toggle and default save destination (board/workspace), stored locally on your device.
• Your own Anthropic API key (if you provide one), used only to run AI analysis on your saved items.

We do not collect browsing history. The extension only accesses a page's content when you actively trigger a save action (click the bookmark button, use the right-click menu, or save the current tab).

2. How we use this data

• To let you save, organize, and retrieve your design inspiration across the web app, extension, Telegram bot, and Figma plugin.
• To generate AI tags, summaries, and component lists for items you save, by sending the image or page content to the Anthropic API (using your own API key) for analysis.
• To keep you signed in, using a session token stored securely in your browser's local extension storage.

3. Where data is stored

Your account data and saved items are stored in our database and storage infrastructure, hosted on Supabase. Authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local and are not accessible to other extensions or websites.

4. Third parties

We share data with the following third parties, solely to provide the service:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Anthropic — receives the image or content you save, plus your personal API key, purely to generate tags/summaries. This request is made directly using your own API key; we do not retain a copy of this data on Anthropic's side beyond what's needed to process the request.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Permissions used by the Chrome extension

• Host permissions (all sites): to show a hover-to-save button on any website where you might find design inspiration.
• activeTab / tabs: to read the current tab's URL/title and capture a screenshot only when you trigger a save action.
• contextMenus: to add the right-click "Save to UXBERT Inspo" options.
• scripting: to inject the hover-save button into web pages.
• storage: to keep you logged in and remember your preferences locally.

6. Data retention & deletion

Your saved items and account data are retained until you delete them or close your account. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.

7. Children's privacy

UXBERT Inspo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date above.
